Dear Parent or Guardian,
Portland Golf Club is pleased to have you participate in our American Red Cross Aquatic Program. You and your child will have an opportunity to experience water play and water safety in a caring environment. The following information will help create a safe and positive experience for your child.
Before the First Class
There are many things you can do even before the first lesson to prepare your child for his or her aquatic experience. Begin talking to your child about swimming lessons, perhaps during bath time. If possible, arrange to bring your child to the facility one or two days before class begins, especially if they have never been to our pool before. We have included the book, Waddles Presents AQUACKtic Safety, to help familiarize your child with some pool safety rules in a fun way, and help with concerns regarding water.
Parent’s Role During the Lesson
Facility Rules and Regulations
Parents are responsible for the safety of their children. We know this will be a fun and rewarding time. We encourage you to talk with your child’s instructor throughout the program.
