The dress policy is a reflection of the etiquette and high standards expected by all members as they and their guests enjoy Portland Golf Club. Suitable attire is required to be worn at all times. Members are encouraged to consider common sense, respect for tradition, modesty, and the comfort level of fellow Members when choosing their attire. It is expected that Club Members assume the responsibility to inform their guests prior to their arrival regarding appropriate attire. Those improperly dressed will be asked to change before enjoying the golf course or the clubhouse and its facilities. The Board has delegated to the General Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, and Head Golf Professional the responsibility to enforce the dress code via delegated staff.
The following types of clothing are not permitted at any time in the clubhouse and its decks, in the Sandwedge, and all golfing areas: clothing that is frayed, tattered, and/or otherwise in distressed or worn-out condition; workout/gym attire; exposed undergarments; clothing that exposes bare midriffs; casual crew neck tee shirts; tank tops; halter tops; cut-off shorts; short shorts; and swimwear.
